According to Healthcare Finance News, laundry costs are eating up 2 to 3 percent of most hospital budgets. That adds up to a big cost – millions of dollars for many hospitals, spent on a service that can be often overlooked by practitioners.
Laundry is dealt with one of two ways in a hospital.  Hospitals may choose to purchase their linens or rent them, outsourcing the cleaning and turnover.  While it may seem beneficial to manage the costs on your own, in reality purchased linens end up costing many hospitals more as management costs rise quickly.
